Publisher's Description:
Transposer - Transposer 2.0 allows you to raise or lower the pitch of any MP3 song without changing the tempo. You can also change the tempo of an MP3 song without changing the pitch. The quality of the recording remains the same, within reasonable limits (pitch changes of 4-5 semitones higher or lower, and tempo changes of less than 25%).
This program can be very useful to someone trying to learn a certain track of a song. Some applications of Transposer 2.0 include:
* By raising or lowering the pitch of a song you can practice in your ideal key!
* Lowering the speed makes it easier to write down each note of an arrangement or instrument solo part.
Requires Windows 95 or above. List of Changes:Version 2.01 from 2006-06-27

Great for learning and practicing songs but the sound becomes too distorted to use as a backing track for performance.

It will NOT work with Windows 7. I have used this product on my XP system and it works great. But, if you are running Win 7 don't bother. It either won't install properly, or simply doesn't work.
I have tried to get an answer from the folks that wrote this software, but so far, nothing, nada, zip for an answer.
Good luck if you are using Win 7.

The program downloaded fine. However, the quality of the song I transposed was distorted. I only wanted to transpose 3 semitones and the sound was warped. The tempo did slow down a bit but not too much. Too bad as the program was really easy to use.

respuesta please!

I bought it 2 years ago...Now, I can't install it on windows 7 (seems there's a component missing). There are also a few problems with this soft, as it seemed to base its speed and pitch computing on the actual beat of a song and on A440...so if a song doesn't has a right pitch or no drums, it becomes almost impossible to transpose it...

Have enjoyed using the Transposer for learning songs in different keys, very helpful for rehearsal! Tried to purchase Registration Code so I can save the transposed MP3 files but the site for the registration purchase did not have Transposer as an active product: http://www.worshipmusic.com/gen-trans-pc.html The web page says: "The particular Product you were looking for is unavailable" Please advise me as to how to purchase the Registration Code. Thanks!

I purchased Transposer 2.01 and thought it did an amazing job on the first file. I did need some explination on why the mp3 file would not play on my HTC s604 PDA. An error message pops up saying that the file is not supported by the device or is corrupt. It plays fine on my laptop in Windows Media and Winamp. My PDA uses Mindows Media player and is a windows based phone. When i converted the Transposed wave file to mp3 using Switch sound Converter, the file played normally on my PDA. Any help here? ANdy

The program seems rather inconsistent, in that it sometimes opens a file, sometimes not. A few files it will never open, but that can be a faulty file. But when it works it is a great help.
I am using it on Windows XP Thocho

I need help making Transposer compatible with VISTA. I followed the links for vista users (windows help program...) that you provided and downloaded/installed as directed, and I am still unable to 'register' and 'save' my song once I've transposed it!! Please help.

The delay in re-writing the file, after a change is made, makes it unworkable, for me. There are other products that do it quickly, allowing for a fast sync from the mp3 song's pitch, to my guitar's current tuning.

Almost to early
I have just downloaded the software yesterday and have not used it much, one thing I have encountered is that when I transpose up or down and hit the ok button it does not transpose. I have to tag transpose again and ok again. Some times it takes 3 or 4 tries before it works. When it does transpose it does a good job. I've got to try a little more on the ok button. Mike W

Incredible program!
I downloaded this program to transpose a karaoke song up for a singing contest. The program worked beautifully like no other, it moved the music up 4 semitones without distorting the sound quality or speeding up the tempo. I would highly recommend this program! :-)

I downloaded the program to try it, but out of all the mp3s I had in my computer, I could get only one to actually transpose. For all the rest, I got a message, "no source" and transposer was unable to do anything with the file.

Transposer review
I found the program easy to use and had no problems with running it. Some concerns I do have with the product are as follows: 1) It would be an even better program if the pitch could be transposed in smaller increments, and 2) Two of the three songs I transposed immediately after installing the program are not able to be burned to a CD. Exactly why is a mystery to me, but it makes those files somewhat difficult for me to use if I can't burn them to a CD for use in my studio.

Good Work
I have found this program to work flawlessly in my opinion. As a guitarist I will be using the program to transpose various songs into different keys for teaching purposes. Keep up the good work.

After searching through many...
After searching google for many transposers and their "claims" of clairy, Transposer is the clearest/cleanest that I've been able to find. There are minor distortions however, compared to the rest, this is FAR above their quality and generally not enough to distract the listener. I do a lot of vocal recording and needed something to transpose my tracks. Another great feature is that the transposition stays in stereo, many other wind up converting it to mono which kills the effects of many tracks.

A Pretty Good Product for Pitch Shifting
Downloading the product allows you to give it a test-run before purchasing it, with the exception of saving a file (I'm undecided on whether I'll purchase it or not). I was able to pitch-shift an .mp3 about a fifth up and the distortion and deterioration of the file were minimal, which was great. However, I would prefer to work with a .WAV file rather than an .mp3 as the overall quality is much better. For that reason, I'd give it a C+.
